The color of the year for Pantone was recently announced and some were shocked while others thought, “I get it.” I’m one of those, I get it, people because looking back over the year I have been seeing this color pop up a ton! And done very well I might add. So, I compiled a little post for you that highlights some of the subtle, adorable and even bold ways this color has been used in wedding design.
Ways to use UltraViolet at your Wedding
Naturally, I’m going to build my list in Project Block order. If you’re not yet using The Project Block System, it’s not too late! Head on over to the ECourse page and read all about it!
Subtle Details You Wear
The subtlest way to incorporate UltraViolet would be to wear it with all your Project Block Zero ingredients. These are the things that you and your wedding party wear on the big day.
- Hair Accessories
- Jewelry
- Your Garter
- Men’s Ties & Vests
- Shoes
- Bridesmaid’s Getting Ready robes
- Bridesmaid Dresses
- Flower Girl Dresses
- Flower Girl Baskets & Petals
- Your Bouquet & Boutonnieres
Creative Design Details
The next step would be to add in more decorative details throughout your guests’ entry into your wedding and as they walk to the ceremony site. These areas would include Project Blocks 1 through 3. Ways to incorporate UltraViolet include:
- Entry sign writing, printed text, signage
- Program ribbons
- Card boxes
Ceremony Details
Dressing up your Ceremony aisle and altar are beautiful and easy ways to use UltraViolet too. These are your Project Block 4 areas and a lot of flowers can be used!
- Aisle Runners
- Aisle Petals
- Chair Sashes down the aisle
- Pew Bows or florals
- Add details to your Altar
- Add Florals to your Altar
- Create a dramatic curtain as your aisle entry
- Write your vows in UltraViolet journals
- Give your Officiant an UltraViolet folder
- Dress your Officiant in Ultra Violet
Cocktail Hour Details
After your ceremony, the Ultra Violet color may become less subtle. Have some fun and splash that color all around the entertainment by starting with Project Block 5, your Favors and carrying it all the way through the cocktail hour to Project Block 9, the bar.
- Wedding Favor Details- Packaging ribbon or text on tags
- Make an UltraViolet jam to spread the love or frosted cookies!
- Darn your kid’s table in Ultra Violet coloring books and activities
- Print an I Spy Camera Game in UltraViolet
- Get fun drinking straws and cocktail napkins
- Order up a fun UltraViolet Signature Drink or Purple Rain Martini
Reception Details
Now here is where you can begin to be bold with your Ultra Violet colors. As soon as your guests enter your reception they’ll know this is your color! Your reception begins with Project Block 10, and your reception seating System. It carries you all the way through the night into your Grand Exit.
- Have your Escort or place cards printed in Ultra Violet ink, or on UltraViolet paper.
- Do the same for your table numbers
- Use UltraViolet candles
- Go very bold with UltraViolet linens
- Order your table napkins in Ultra Violet
- Chair Sashes
- Table Chargers
- Centerpieces- there is really no limit to the beauty you can add here
- Vase fillers- crystals, rocks, water beads or
even floralytes.
- Order an UltraViolet Cake Topper and Cupcake Toppers
- Color your frosting and cake color
- Order cake napkins or plates
- Design an entire Candy Buffet around your color!
- Candy Treat bags
- Hang Paper Lanterns overhead
- String paper garlands and banners overhead
- Hang twinkle lights {snag these after Halloween!}
- Reserve some up lighting from your DJ
- Photobooth props and feather boas
- Order Ultra Violet Sparkler Tags
- Rent an UltraViolet getaway car!
I am sure that there are many more ways to incorporate this amazing, Color of the Year, UltraViolet. These are simply the top 50, easiest ways I could come up with off the top of my head 😉 These are really simple ways to incorporate any color into your wedding planning!
