If you’re popping over from the Project Block 18 post about How to Make Kids’ Stations, this is the post for building the third option, individual activity boxes. Here is where I will explain how I coordinated the count, construction, labeling and then final set up of the individual boxes on our wedding day.

Coordinating individual Activity Boxes for Kids at your Wedding

It started way back at the guest list and arranging my Guest List Spreadsheet to include a column for the “kid count”, then whether or not the couple was planning to RSVP their kids. We did put on our invitation that kids were welcomed, but some parents appreciate a night out too without the kids so I certainly wasn’t expecting all kids to come. In fact, there were kids whom we planned to have that actually didn’t attend because they were fussy, got sick, etc. Fortunately, I had prepared for the kids who we weren’t expecting that DID attend! Here is how.

How to prepare your Activity Boxes

For my wedding, we ordered some little green treat boxes to use as our Activity Boxes and filled it with games toys snacks and a drink box with a little label name tag on them. {Return to the Kids Stations Post for ideas on how to fill the boxes} The kids were all so excited to have something fun to do. Some even came up to my husband and I and thanked us for thinking of them, which we thought was very sweet and entirely worth the effort. Plus, I don’t remember any kid causing any problems. They were all too busy playing with their bubbles, cameras and bug nets!

I made labels for every single kid that could possibly attend the wedding and need Activity Boxes because I would rather waste a label than leave out a child! I color coded them blue and pink for boys and girls so that I could create the kits better too. Then we went ahead and built enough Activity Boxes per child, boy, and girl that could come. I tied a ribbon to mark each box boy or girl since I had not yet put the name tags on.

Labeling the Activity Boxes

The week before the wedding we took a look at our RSVP list and who was actually bringing their kids. We then put only their name labels on the kits. I also wrote a tiny little table number on the label. Once their parents had finally been arranged into our seating plan. On Friday before the wedding, I set the kits out under each table where the child would be seated. The next day so that it was already done! Saturday morning our coordinators just had to set them up on top of the tables after the linens were on. Easy! The kids were all taken care of. 24 happy campers. And, like I mentioned before, not one of them caused any issues!
