Your Wedding Reception Entertainment is sure to not be overlooked. I’m sure you have a Pinterest Board full of ideas! Only, you may not have known they were your P18’s. Wedding Reception Entertainment {I know what you’re thinking, and that is “everyone will be dancing”} is meant to fill that slightly awkward time between dinner and dancing. You will have guests who are at the end of the buffet line {last because they don’t want to wait} maybe start in early on your P18. Or perhaps you have guests who finish dinner early and they’re sitting around waiting for toasts to start. You’ll also have that crowd of non-dancers who will never dance and may need a place to hang out and feel in their own element. Lawn Games are usually the popular choice!
How to Coordinate Wedding Reception Entertainment
I wish, and perhaps for you, it will be, that dancing and socializing will be enough to entertain people, but unfortunately, it isn’t. The truth is that if guests don’t find something comfortable to do, they’ll leave, which may also be okay with you. But, to prevent that, and because it’s super fun, here are a few simple to extravagant things you can do to plan Wedding Reception Entertainment for everyone!
Wedding I Spy Games and a Wedding Hashtag
This is a fantastic, simple activity for all ages. Snag some affordable disposable cameras on Amazon and let people roam your venue clicking candids. They’ll feel like they helped too! As the dancing goes on and people start to wander or the kids start to get cranky, this might be the fun boost they need. You don’t have to spring for the cameras if you have a hashtag for your wedding. Adults can use their cell phones and post pictures to Instagram using your hashtag or they can even upload them to a DropBox. To pull this off you only need a few printouts or signage, which of course are available on Etsy 😉
Activities for Kids at your Wedding
If you are including Kids at your wedding reception. I have an entirely separate post for you! On your Project Block Worksheets, you can include the Kids as your P18 or even extend them to be a P18B. Sometimes we tend to not include kids on our wedding guest list and that’s okay, but for those of us who do we can prevent a lot of the perceived issues or fears about kids at the wedding by being proactive and preparing for them. They actually aren’t that bad and can often lead to some very adorable pictures. Not to mention you might have a few kiddos working the wedding, like your ring bearer and flower girl, and you want to provide a few things for them too as a gratuity.

Group Activities and Lawn Games
These are by far the most popular choice for Wedding Reception Entertainment. You can find all sorts of ideas on Pinterest regularly. See our Project 18 Pinterest Board for more ideas! With Lawn games, you can go simple or build your own giant-sized versions of popular games. This Project Block can be as simple as loading up all the fun BBQ games from your garage like croquet, horseshoes, corn hole and even ladder-toss games. You make a fun sign and you’re good to go! Or, if Dads want to get involved {great Project to delegate to them!} you can get elaborate and start using the table saw to cut gigantic Jenga games which will not only entertain, but impress your guests!
