Welcome to Day 6!
How does your Headquarters look?
We’re about to add some method to that madness…
Day 6 Assignments
Accomplish all of these tasks by the end of the day
{well… by the end of tomorrow…}
You’ve likely already bought some wedding decorations! We call these ingredients… for your Project Blocks. Continue sorting them and bagging them up separately as I showed you in Day 3’s Setting Up Shop Video. Keep them all organized by areas that will exist at your wedding {Ta-Da! Enter Project Blocks} in simple paper grocery bags or boxes. Write the area’s name {Cake Table, Altar, Welcome Table, etc} on the outside, so you know what it contains for future purchase sorting.

Your Assignment for TODAY: Game Plans & Recipes for success
Today, just get comfortable. If it were me I’d grab a coffee and a cupcake and hunker down for some serious productivity! You’re going to need your note cards from Day 3 {or worksheets} all day. You may also want to get your Pinterest Boards up and in front of you.
For now, today, let’s just focus on a handful: 0 through 8, or maybe through 15 if you’re feeling ambitious and you’ve had a productive week so far. THIS, what we’re about to walk you through, is the biggest advice we can give you for setting up a successful wedding planning experience from here on out….
Here we go…
Your note cards should currently look like an ingredient list, or shopping list on the front side. {Refer back to Day 3} Ideally, you’d have Projects 0-15 all began and sort of started with how you want them to look. {You still have plenty of time and room to change your mind, don’t worry}
Flip your index cards over now to the back side. You’re now going to write a PRIOR TO WEDDING Checklist for yourself.
Look at your Project and how you want it to develop. Identify all the tasks that need to be done for each Project “Prior to the Wedding” for it to actually happen. Do signs need to be made? Painted? Crafted? Do you need to reserve rental equipment? Do you need to sit down and write a script, a speech? Do cupcakes have to be ordered? Flavors divided and counted?
Project by Project, step by step, divide out every task needed to complete the overall look. This is your game plan.
Action Questions:
- Who do you think will do all of these tasks?
- Who can you delegate to?
There are plenty of people out there saying, “Let me know if I can help with anything!” Guess what, these are those things! You now have an exact list of tiny tasks that you can delegate. This will help you divide responsibility, include others {remember those Family Talks} who want to be included and relieve stress on you.
I know, I know, you want to do all the crafting for your wedding, I get it… but every single little thing? You have a lot of other assignments to do for this whole wedding that others cannot help you with… like write your vows, apply for your marriage license… take the help where you can. #Trustme
You do not need to hand over the task, close your eyes and hope for the best now either. That is the beauty of the Worksheet or Note card System. You have a clear RECIPE that you’re asking a person to complete. You will communicate to them exactly what you expect it to look like when it’s finished, no surprises. Be sure to tell them that they are helping you immensely by completing the tasks to your specifications and how grateful you are to them for their accountability in following your directions. Which you are!
Let’s get back to the point… Today is only about writing your recipes, by yourself, with coffee and a cupcake. Embrace your #Bridelife today. However, the better you write these recipes and the more thorough you are, the easier it will be to delegate them eventually, and tactfully. But not today. Today just write out your wedding vision. Enjoy it, be creative and feel free to change your mind! Thankfully note cards are cheap!
You are about to begin a very organized system that will eventually allow you to Style your wedding day and hand it over to someone with complete confidence.
Here is a little story {which I bet you know someone too} where The Project Block System would have saved the day and how you can prevent it from happening to you!
