If your head is spinning, you’re not alone. Engagement is an exciting and often overwhelming part of your life story. Diving head first into your wedding planning is probably what everyone is telling you to do, but let’s take a quick step back… Take a breath. Let’s talk about becoming a Money Savvy Bride for a quick second. Get ready to talk about money and some proactive steps towards making it work for you.
How to Become a Money Savvy Bride.
It’s no joke when people talk about how expensive weddings are, and they’re right. Your budget will go out the window if you don’t stay on top of your spending. But, there are a few ways that you can make your spending benefit you. That’s right, benefit! You know you’re going to spend a lot, so let’s make those bucks work double time!
One of my best Wedding Planning Tips and parts of the whole Green-Eyed Girl Philosophy is to make all of your purchases work double duty. Whether you’re making your centerpieces be your favors or your tossing bouquet a centerpiece, give everything a double purpose. The strategy is no different when it comes to all the money you’ll be spending on the wedding. Logistically, some spending cannot work double for you unless you’ve become a Money Savvy Bride. When you spend money, make it work for you! No money should be spent that doesn’t come back around to earn you something… Using that strategy and philosophy is what makes you a Money Savvy Bride. Now here is how you do it…
Exclusive Wedding Credit Card
Keep all of your wedding expenses on one exclusive credit card. With a specific credit card designated for the wedding, you’ll control your monthly spending and you’ll know exactly how much your wedding has cost you. Make it work double purpose for you and open a Rewards card that will earn you air miles or cash back rewards for a honeymoon.
There are many to choose from but our favorite is the Chase Freedom Credit Card which gives you 1.5% Cash Back on all of your purchase and starts with a $500 limit {easy to pay off monthly for the wedding and to control your spending}

Register for Online Rewards Services
There is truly no better way to shop online that with a Rewards Service. Truly everyone should do this all the time, not just when wedding shopping. Installing any of these services into your Chrome Bar as an extension will make sure that you’re earning cash back and points!
Ebates
Register right now if you’re not already a member. Everyone planning a wedding is going to buy something online sometime during your planning. A Money Savvy Bride will earn herself as much cash back on the purchases she’s already making, earning her “free” money to spend later. You could also look at it as receiving a discount on all your online purchases which makes your overall wedding spending much less.
Swagbucks
Register right now if you’re not already a member. Swagbucks is very similar to Ebates but instead of cash back, you earn gift cards. You can earn Swagbucks through your online purchases, taking daily surveys or even by clipping coupons. Once you’ve earned 500 SB you can start redeeming $5 gift cards. Swagbucks are available for purchases all across the internet including most of the popular Wedding Registry Stores. So, when it comes time to buy all the items you didn’t receive, you’ll earn points for making those online purchases. See how I earned Disneyland tickets for my family through Swagbucks…
Honey Gold
Honey is yet another Cash Back service website, but it is also a built-in feature for all Amazon shoppers!! I’m willing to wager that you’ll buy something off of Amazon during your wedding planning experience. The Money Savvy Bride that you are should also benefit from the Honey Gold Points! You can redeem them for cash back and hotel keys! More on that at their website… #honeymoonplanning
