Video- Project Block 11 Lecture.mp4

I know what you’re thinking… your guestbook stuff is up at Project Block 2, right? Not necessarily. This Project is for your keepsakes, wedding treasures, and big items you plan to commemorate your wedding with. These items are fun for guests to interact with but more importantly, need more time to do properly.

Building your Worksheet

Time is exactly why we don’t put Interactive Guestbooks before the ceremony with Project Block 3. The entire point of this Project, if done correctly by guests will, in fact, hold up your ceremony, especially if guests take too much time. Or worse, they rush through it, because they’re already late and they screw it up.

Plan this Project to exist within your Cocktail Hour timeframe so it gives guests something to enjoy doing. This Project could also be your Project 7 if you want to double it up. You can also eliminate this Project altogether and stick with a simple guestbook.

So this Project, since it is extra, and not a necessary logistical piece of the wedding puzzle, you have no real homework. Hooray! But if you are DOING something interactive for guests at the reception here is your Worksheet Guide.

Ingredients:

Whichever guestbook or activity you decide, I know you’ll need pens! However, make sure you invest in the proper pen for your project. Determine what you’re writing on and do a test run with it if you can. They round up all of the other little pieces including the instructional signage telling guests what they are supposed to do.

Prior to Wedding:

Project 11’s are my favorite things to haul around to all of your wedding events the months before. This keepsake should first be signed by all of your family and it DOES NOT have to wait until the wedding day! The whole point of this project is for it to be complete right? So, the more people who have it done before the wedding day the better! Take it to your bridal showers and rehearsal dinner. That is where all of your VIP guests are anyway, so they can get their signing done, and get a good real estate spot on it if it’s a piece of wall art. Bonus: Your wedding guests won’t be walking up to a blank Project, they’ll have even more guidance as mom has already shown them how big to write their name!

  1. KEEPSAKE
    • Determine your keepsake(s)
    • Buy them or their supplies
    • Purchase the proper pens and/or inks/paint required
    • Create a sign with clear directions
  2. PRE-SIGNING
    • Have your keepsakes prior to your Bridal Shower(s)
      • Remember to HAVE IT at the shower for guests to sign
      • Tell them it will be at the wedding, so don’t sign it twice 😉 It’s the same one
    • Bring it to the Rehearsal Dinner
      • This will save your guests a TON of time on the wedding day and help guarantee most of your VIP sign it.
      • Assign a Liaison to monitor it at the Rehearsal Dinner and bring it to the wedding the next day.
      • Ask your Rehearsal Dinner Hosts if they don’t mind the extra attraction.
  3. WEDDING DAY LIAISON
    • Assign someone to monitor this Keepsake(s) throughout the cocktail hour and reception
    • Ask him/her to put it somewhere safe before the wedding ends for proper storage overnight.
      • This might be in someone’s car to take home.

Staging Materials:

Some P11 Wall art is very big and has to be laid flat for guests to sign it. You may need to rent an additional folding table and linen just for this. This is another reason you do not want this Project on your Welcome Table… there isn’t enough room and sometimes guests set gifts right on top of it!

Wedding Day Set Up:

Keep this Project in a location that guests interact with after the ceremony. This Project can easily delay your entire ceremony if you have a long bottleneck line of guests trying to do it before the ceremony.

  • Check off when the Project is Done, Packed and Ready to Go, and you have your PENS!
  • Check off when this Project is loaded into a Big Day vehicle
  • Assign the Person who is setting HQ up for you {if different than the Person in Charge}
  • Name your Person in Charge. He or she will then take over the Worksheet and check off the remaining Wedding Day Set Up boxes as they are completed.
