Now that your tables are set and all pretty with linens let’s spruce them up with something even more gorgeous! Have you thought about your centerpieces yet? Better call that Florist back!

The realm of centerpieces is massive, so for this Project we’re giving you 3 main guidelines to consider while making your decision.

Building your Worksheet

Image:

Pull a few ideas off of Pinterest. If you are doing different styles per Table Label them as 22A, 22B, 22C, 22D, etc. Follow the Project Block 22 Pinterest Board for more ideas!

Then when you have a better idea of your true centerpiece, take a picture of your built centerpiece mock-up and paste it onto your Worksheet. Or, affix multiples to the back. You can always have an overflow sheet too!

Ingredients:

Here is where you should list all the necessary items needed from the linen up {Linens are a different Project} meaning everything that goes on the, in the middle, after the linens are put on and the place settings are set. If it isn’t an explicit part of the centerpiece it goes somewhere else.

Ingredients may include:

  • An Anchor Piece: Mirror Tiles, Colored square Napkin, Wood Round, etc.
  • Vessels: Vases, Jars, Wine Bottles, Mercury Glass
  • Builds: Books, Wood Pillars, Stackable
  • Flowers: Provided by your florist, but still account for them
  • Accents: Any Adornments, Table Numbers, Picture frames, etc.
  • *Reminder that Candles & Table Runners are part of other Projects

Prior to Wedding:

List tasks that need to be complete before the wedding day to ensure success including:

  1. MOCK CENTERPIECES
    • Obtain enough ingredients to do a mock set up of all centerpiece styles. Yes, go buy some flowers for yourself just this once and take accurate pictures.
    • Take pictures of each centerpiece and affix it to your Worksheet back side or make another page.
  2. FLORIST INVOICE
    • Get a table count for how many centerpieces/arrangements are needed
    • Include your ceremony decor, food tables, welcome/gift tables, reception tables, cake tables, tribute tables
      • PRO TIP: Have your Tossing Bouquet be an arrangement on your P2 or P3
      • PRO TIP: Have your Aisle Decor for P4 turn into your centerpieces
      • PRO TIP: Get extra vases for your head table(s) and use your bridesmaids’ bouquets as the centerpieces!
      • PRO TIP: Put a nice vase on your Sweetheart Table for your bouquet too! You’ll need somewhere to put it and you don’t need to order another centerpiece.
  3. DELIVERY & SETUP
    • Plan with your Florist a Delivery or Pickup Schedule
    • Make sure to plan delivery AFTER your tables are set up and ready for centerpieces if they have to build them
      • Some centerpieces can be dropped off and simply set, but we don’t want florists waiting around on tables if they have to build, so plan accordingly
  4. AFTER WEDDING PLAN
    • What will happen to florals the night of the wedding?
      • Determine the vase return and flower plan
        • Separate florals & vases, then wash and box for florist pick up
        • Save florals in small arrangements and donate the next morning
        • Take them home to use at the Next Morning Brunch
        • Send centerpieces home with your Awesome People
      • Designate a Liaison to take them all home and/or return the vases to the florist

Staging Materials:

This Project can potentially take up a lot of room in your Headquarters if you have complex builds. I recommend either one of 2 ways to stage them.

If you have LESS THAN 10 tables: You can get paper grocery bags and individually pack your ingredients per table so that you just have to walk into your reception and set the bags on tables. Hours later your set up crew will walk around unloading bags and building centerpieces right where they sit.

If you have MORE THAN 10 tables: I advise that you pack your ingredients more so in sorted pieces so that Set Up crews can work assembly line style. Put ALL your wood rounds in the same, one box, all your Mason Jars, etc. So the 1st person can wheel around a cart, drop one wood round at each table, Person 2 then comes behind them setting 3 mason jars per table, Person 3 comes around dropping off the table numbers and Person 1 comes back around with books… then Person 2 goes around and builds table to table. Make sense? So your Headquarters will have 4 BIG boxes of all the same ingredient, as opposed to individual bags with 4 ingredients each inside.

Wedding Day Set Up:

On your Project Block Worksheet, fill in the Wedding Day Set Up Section with your “Sandwich” Remember to list all of the necessary ingredients on your Worksheet and where they’re coming from!

  • You check off when the Project is Done, Packed and Ready to Go
  • You check off when this Project is loaded into a Big Day vehicle
  • You assign the Person who is setting HQ up for you {if different than the Person in Charge}
  • Name your Person in Charge. He or she will then take over the Worksheet and check off the remaining Wedding Day Set Up boxes as they are completed.
