Returning the Favor

By attending your wedding, guests truly are doing you the favor. Sure, you invited them, but they chose to come and celebrate with you. And for that, you’re grateful.

Returning the “favor” can be tricky and even seem unnecessary when you take a look at your budget. However, let me remind you that returning the favor with gratitude does not have to translate into 150 little trinkets…

Building your Worksheet

Image:

Find some cute display picture of how you want to distribute your favors and maybe even some signage!

Ingredients:

Here is where you should list all materials needed to build, craft or assemble the favors. Include tags and signage.

Prior to Wedding:

Favors are not at all required. You are not under any wedding rule/code to buy your guests an additional gift or trinket. However, you are responsible {as am I for guiding you} for thanking people who came and showing your appreciation. There are many easy, and free ways to do this. Perhaps a photo booth, multiple small vases compiled for your centerpiece that each guest can take, cookies, a giant sign as they enter that says THANK YOU for all to see, whatever it is…
List tasks that need to be complete before the wedding day to ensure success including:

  1. SAYING THANK YOU: Determine how you’ll say/express it
  2. PURCHASE FAVORS:
    1. Constructions of favors
    2. Completion of Signage or tags
    3. Make a game plan for remaining favors and what you will do with them.

Staging Materials:

From your Ingredients list write in the specific items used for the styling factor of this Project, the table, display, baskets, etc. Keep whatever you use to transport them to the venue in Headquarters so that after the wedding you can store remaining favors.

Wedding Day Set Up:

Make sure favors are accessible for guests at the proper time in your timeline. You may also consider having your Person in Charge move them towards the exit so that guests can easily grab them on their way home.

  • Check off when the Project is Done, Packed and Ready to Go
  • Check off when this Project is loaded into a Big Day vehicle
  • Assign the Person who is setting HQ up for you {if different than the Person in Charge}
  • Name your Person in Charge. He or she will then take over the Worksheet and check off the remaining Wedding Day Set Up boxes as they are completed.
