To Have & To Hold
Your Wedding Altar is where all the important pieces come together, but don’t worry, we’ll help you build those too!
Building your Worksheet
Image:
There are so many potential pictures you could use for inspiration here but remember that there are a lot of different people in your wedding than in those pictures you’ll find online. Your wedding altar will be as unique and beautiful as your wedding party. Visit our Project Block 4 Pinterest Board for some unique ideas!
Ingredients:
Ingredients for this Project get a little tricky. The pieces that build this puzzle are actually more little assignments such as:
- Processional Order
- Processional Music {See Project 4D}
- Ceremony Script {See Project 4C}
- Flower Girl Baskets & Ring Pillows
- Wedding Rings
- Unity Ceremony Props
- Everything else needed once the ceremony begins 😉
Prior to Wedding:
- PROCESSIONAL: List out in order, by name all those coming down the aisle and their escorts if any. Is Grandma being seated? Does a groomsman have to seat someone and then come running back to walk down in the order?
- Decide on Processional songs
- CEREMONY: Create a Script first draft.
- Ask your Officiant or get your elected person ordained
- Identify which style or religious tradition you are following and where the wedding party will stand at the altar.
- Begin writing Vows
- Ask any participants: Readers, Singers
- RECESSIONAL: Decide what you would like to do immediately after the ceremony: Receiving Line, Couple’s Retreat, etc.
- Are there any announcements for the Officiant to make
- Where do guests go next & and how to they know?
- Who are your Marriage License witnesses?
- Prepare to plan Project Block 6 Transition which happens after your ceremony
List tasks that need to be complete before the wedding day to ensure success including: Basically completing all those mini Ingredient Projects above!
Staging Materials:
From your Ingredients list write in the specific items used for the styling factor of this Project, the table, or music stand, etc. You may also need to include stones for bridesmaids to stand on in their heels or even tape down standing markers for the whole wedding party along with a chart.
This way the person setting it up for you {Person in Charge} will know what it is supposed to look like in the pictures.
Wedding Day Set Up:
Tape down where each wedding party member stands so that they are evenly spaced for pictures. Then, just line up in order like you did at rehearsal and get ready for showtime!
- Check off when the Project is Done, Packed and Ready to Go
- Check off when this Project is loaded into a Big Day vehicle
- Assign the Person who is setting it up for you {if different than the Person in Charge}
- Name your Person in Charge. He or she will then take over the Worksheet and check off the remaining Wedding Day Set Up boxes as they are completed.
